It was the end of the tournament. I had finished my
Semi-final early against Mherod and had to wait for the other finalist from the match
Steiner-Candy. I personally thought it would be Candy who would make it but after a
tiebreak Steiner won.
Now we had to play. Not on the -FINAL- BM (the
operation) but on a normal BM for time reasons. We both won that BM as Germans ( when I
was Russians I had to fight Tigers and Panthers with 1 SU122 and 2
Shermans, argg) so it
had to be ended in a tiebreaker game.
The BM was
Tiebreaker 1.
A coin was flipped, I had take the Russian side. When I looked at this map I became frustrated
already. I HATE this map. Why? Well, this map has the most unrealistic feature
of the whole game imbedded in it (having a M1A1 Abrams in 1941 with Germans would be
more realistic than this).
It is: The FENCE!!!
This shitty little wooden fence can block ALL shots
from ALL heights. If you have a tank standing on the huge hill in the back you still can
not shoot over this fence. What is this?!? A real gunner wouldn't even consider not firing
because a wooden fence is in front of it.
This
is it, a tank made this LOS

But it was decided that we would play on this
BM, so
we played on this BM.The points were 250 each. Meeting.
NO RARITY!
Thoughts of unlimited Wurfs crossed my mind.
What could I do to counter that menace?
I made my decision pretty quick. The only Russian
tanks able to withstand the rockets for a bit with the JS series. JSIII was impossible with
250 points. JSII was possible but it would leave me with to few points. So I took the
JSU152. There was another plus about this tank. Who would suspect having a JSU against him
on a BM with only 250 points? The germans could not really afford to go for the higher
priced tanks as well, so challenging my JSU directly would be hard to do as well. And of
course I saw I had a great position for my JSU to cover all VLs.I filled up the rest of
the points with GDS AB AT rifles. They are good anti Wurf and anti infantry.
Now I was ready to place my troops. As I said I knew
a great place for my JSU. I put it in the forest behind the damaged 3 story building. I
had LOS right through that building and I could also shoot at the 2 story building in the
north. I also put my 2 AT rifles to cover almost all ground of the germans to spot and to
take out Wurfs. The rest of my infantry I moved in to town or held back as reserve.
This is my setup. The JSU is the red dot whit a
white line. The others are all AT rifles.
The blue spots are places where I discovered Germans
during the game.
The battle begun. I spotted a Tiger right away,
moving towards the two story building in the north. I was smiling at this point :). One
shot in the building immobilized him and took out a german Maxim team as well.
The shot that
did it!
At the same time
I saw infantry(recons) moving into the damaged 3 story, so I turned my JSU and pulverized
them. Up to this point I had not seen nor heared any Wurfs, quickly calculating I cam to
the conclusion that with a Tiger in his possesion taking a Wurf would be VERY unlikely. I
knew I had won. Some more shots in the second story building caused the Tiger to blow up.
I then moved my most northern AT rifle team to run into the 2 story. When they arrived
they finished of the crew of the Tiger, and sitting in the 2 story I spotted an MG34 team
and a recon team, which were wiped out by the AT rifle.
In the south the most southern AT rifle was sneaking
towards the damaged building when it spotted a recon team sitting in the grass. My JSU had
LOS on that area, so that was no problem :) .
At this moment I rushed all my reserves into the
buildings, and my AT rifles who were already sitting in the buildings towards the damaged
building. I met a 2 recon teams, which were killed by AT rifles from all sides.
